Humerus AI
Privacy & Data Protection
Version V1.0
Thank you for using Humerus AI.
Humerus provides PLC project analysis, engineering knowledge recovery, and AI-assisted analysis services for industrial automation engineers. We understand that PLC project files may contain your company's control logic, device configuration, variable naming, process information, and other commercially valuable engineering knowledge.
Therefore, before submitting project files or starting to use Humerus Online Experience, please read and acknowledge the following.
1. How we process your project files
When you submit PLC project files, engineering exports, program code, screenshots, or other related material through Humerus, we may process that material in order to:
- - Identify the project file format;
- - Identify the PLC vendor and engineering software;
- - Analyze the engineering software or file version;
- - Determine whether files are compatible;
- - Extract the project structure;
- - Parse the PLC program and project data;
- - Build a structured model of the project;
- - Perform program and logic analysis;
- - Generate analysis reports;
- - Answer your engineering questions;
- - Help troubleshoot file parsing or compatibility problems.
This processing is the engineering analysis inherently required to deliver the Humerus service.
2. We do not publish or sell your projects
Your project files are your engineering material. Humerus will not:
- - Sell your project files;
- - Publicly disclose your project files;
- - Provide your project files to unrelated third parties;
- - Use your project content for advertising;
- - Provide your project content to other customers without authorization.
We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the material you submit.
3. Humerus may analyze the files themselves
To ensure your project is processed correctly, Humerus may analyze not only the PLC program logic but also the project files themselves. For example, we may need to determine: file format, file structure, file version, PLC vendor, engineering software version, file encoding, file dependencies, file completeness, whether the project can be parsed, whether the current version supports the project, and why certain content cannot be parsed.
For example, when you submit a new PLC project format, we may need to analyze its file structure and version information to determine whether Humerus can support it.
This is technical analysis required for engineering compatibility and service support.
4. What project files may contain
PLC project files may contain extensive engineering information, for example: PLC programs, Function Blocks, Functions, Data Blocks, Variables, I/O addresses, Symbols, Comments, Networks, control logic, device configuration, process-related information, project names, engineer comments, and file creation or modification information.
Therefore, before submitting a project, please confirm that you have the right to submit the project files to Humerus for analysis.
If the project contains customer secrets, personal information, passwords, keys, or other data that should not be uploaded, please handle it according to your organization's security policy before submitting.
5. We do not modify your project
In the current Humerus Online Experience, submitting project files does not modify your local PLC project.
The Humerus analysis process is used to: read, parse, model, analyze, generate reports, and answer questions.
If future features allow Humerus to interact with engineering software through the Connector / RPA, we will clearly inform users of the scope of those operations in the corresponding features.
6. Deleting project files
You may request deletion of the project material you submitted. Where deletion is supported, you can delete related projects through the project management interface.
After deletion: Humerus will no longer use that project as your current project; data directly associated with it will be deleted according to the system's data lifecycle policy; certain necessary system logs, audit records, or backups may not be deleted immediately and will be handled according to the applicable retention periods.
If you want a project deleted but the interface does not offer deletion, you can submit a deletion request through the Humerus contact channels.
7. We do not acquire ownership of your project
The existing rights to the project files and engineering knowledge you submit to Humerus do not automatically transfer to Humerus because of the submission. You retain the rights to the project material you submit.
What you grant Humerus is primarily the processing permission necessary to provide engineering analysis, technical support, and related services.
8. AI analysis
Humerus may use AI models to help understand project structure, analyze PLC programs, summarize project logic, explain analysis results, answer engineering questions, and generate engineering documentation.
AI-generated content may contain errors. Therefore, Humerus AI analysis results should not directly replace an engineer's verification of the actual control system.
Especially for scenarios involving safety control, personal safety, equipment protection, production control, functional safety, and emergency stop, final judgment and verification should be performed by qualified and authorized engineering personnel.
9. Your project does not become a public knowledge base
Unless explicitly stated otherwise, project files you submit will not automatically become public because they were analyzed by Humerus, nor will they automatically become part of a project knowledge base accessible to other users.
Other users cannot access your projects through the normal Humerus service.
10. Service improvement and technical analysis
To improve Humerus support for industrial automation projects, we may collect technical information related to service operation, such as: file format, PLC vendor, engineering software version, whether parsing succeeded, parsing error types, service operation status, performance information, software versions, Connector versions, and error logs.
This information helps us add new PLC project formats, improve version compatibility, fix parsing problems, improve engineering analysis, and increase system stability.
11. Project content versus service improvement
Technical compatibility analysis is not the same as disclosing your project content.
For example, if a Siemens project cannot be parsed, we may need to study its file format, project version, directory structure, XML / binary structure, encoding, and version differences to determine why parsing failed.
The purpose of this analysis is to improve Humerus support for project formats and versions — not to publish, sell, or provide your project to other customers.
12. Third-party services
To operate the Humerus service, we may use necessary infrastructure or technology providers, such as cloud computing, object storage, databases, AI model services, network infrastructure, and logging and monitoring services.
In such cases, we require these providers to process data only within the scope necessary to provide the service, with appropriate security measures.
13. Human-assisted analysis
When necessary, Humerus engineers may access submitted project data to assist with engineering analysis, troubleshoot parsing or compatibility problems, and improve support for project formats and versions.
We do not make absolute promises such as "no one will ever see your project". What we can commit to is that such access happens only for the purpose of providing and improving the service, and is subject to access controls and confidentiality obligations.
14. Data security
Humerus applies reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your material, including but not limited to: access control, identity authentication, transport encryption, storage protection, project-level access isolation, Connector authentication, credential revocation, and system logging and security monitoring.
However, no internet service can guarantee that security risks are completely absent.
15. Your responsibilities
Before submitting a project, please confirm: you have the right to submit it; your company or organization permits using the relevant services; the project contains no third-party material you are not authorized to upload; the project contains no passwords, keys, or other sensitive credentials that should not be uploaded; and you have obtained the necessary internal authorization.
If your organization prohibits uploading engineering data to external services, please do not use the Cloud Online Experience. You may consider local or private deployment options that meet your organization's security requirements.
16. Deletion and stopping use
You may stop using Humerus at any time. For projects already submitted, you can delete them through the features provided by the system, or contact us with a deletion request.
If you stop using Humerus, we will not proactively continue using your project for business activities unrelated to you. However, records required by law, necessary security logs, and system backups may be retained for a period of time according to the applicable data retention policies.
17. Special notice for enterprise users
If you use Humerus on behalf of a company, factory, system integrator, or other organization, we recommend confirming before the first submission: corporate data security policy, IT / OT network security policy, PLC project data upload policy, third-party AI service usage policy, customer NDAs, and industrial control system security requirements.
If a customer project is subject to an NDA or other contractual restrictions, please confirm whether the relevant contracts permit using an external analysis service before uploading.
18. Recommendations for project secrets
For highly sensitive industrial projects, we recommend: removing unnecessary personal information; removing unnecessary passwords and keys; removing confidential files unrelated to the problem; applying anonymization according to company policy; and prioritizing the project data necessary to solve the problem.
Humerus does not ask you to submit more data than the analysis requires.
19. Agreement updates
As Humerus products, the Connector, AI capabilities, and data processing evolve, this agreement may be updated. If an update involves significant changes in data processing, we will provide notice in the appropriate places. The latest version will be published on the Humerus website.
