Modern factories, machines, and infrastructure depend on increasingly complex automation systems. Yet the engineers responsible for building and maintaining them still spend countless hours searching through PLC programs, tracing signals, reading documentation, debugging equipment, and navigating specialized engineering software.

We started Humerus because we believe there is a better way.

Humerus is building AI-powered engineering tools that help automation and controls engineers understand complex systems, investigate problems, and get engineering work done faster.

Make complex engineering systems easier to understand and operate.

AI has transformed the way people write software, search for information, and work with digital systems. But much of industrial engineering still relies on manual workflows built around specialized software, fragmented project files, tribal knowledge, and hours of investigation.

Humerus brings AI into that environment.

Our goal is not simply to build another chatbot for engineers. We are building an engineering intelligence layer capable of understanding projects, tracing relationships across programs and devices, interacting with engineering tools, and helping engineers move from a question to an actionable answer.

We want engineers to spend less time searching through systems and more time solving meaningful engineering problems.

Where We're Going

Humerus begins with industrial automation, but our vision extends far beyond PLC engineering.

Engineering is divided into highly specialized domains—automation, electrical design, mechanical engineering, robotics, manufacturing, semiconductor systems, aerospace, and many others. Each field has its own software, workflows, data formats, terminology, and expert knowledge.

Advanced AI is becoming increasingly capable, but there is still a major gap between a general-purpose AI model and the specialized environments where engineers actually work.

Humerus is building the infrastructure to bridge that gap.

Our long-term goal is to create a universal engineering intelligence platform: a common layer that connects advanced AI with specialized engineering domains, their software tools, project data, and workflows.

Instead of developing a separate AI system from the ground up for every engineering discipline, Humerus aims to provide the foundation through which AI can understand the domain, access the right engineering context, interact with specialized tools, and perform meaningful work.

We think of this as building a highway between advanced AI and the engineering world.

Industrial automation is our first entry point because it presents exactly the challenges this architecture is designed to solve: complex software, fragmented project knowledge, specialized workflows, and a high dependence on experienced engineers.

From there, the same foundation can expand into other engineering disciplines.

Our ambition is for Humerus to become the infrastructure that allows increasingly capable AI models to enter specialized technical domains without requiring every industry to build that bridge independently.

Today, deep system knowledge is locked inside the heads of a few experienced engineers. We want Humerus to make that knowledge accessible to every engineer on the team—regardless of how long they have worked on a given machine or system.

From reactive to proactive maintenance

Most industrial maintenance is still reactive. Engineers investigate after something breaks. Humerus aims to help teams move earlier in that cycle—understanding system behavior before problems escalate.

AI that works inside industrial reality

Industrial environments have strict constraints: no cloud, no network exposure, no disruption to production. Our vision is AI that respects those constraints by design—running locally, integrating non-intrusively, and earning trust through consistent, auditable behavior.

Factories already depend on mature engineering ecosystems. We believe AI should augment those environments instead of requiring engineers to abandon them.
